On April 17, 2026, at the “Jutaan Warna” music video launch & press conference, Datuk Freddie Fernandez presented the VIMA Trailblazer Award to independent band Late Night Frequency (LNF) — a recognition reserved for artists who don’t follow the map… they redraw it.

Datuk Freddie’s presence made the moment even more meaningful. As President of Persatuan Karyawan Malaysia (Karyawan), Founder of Anugerah Industri Muzik (AIM), and former Chairman of MACP, his lifelong work in championing artists’ rights and music royalties has shaped the industry at its core.

His journey with VIMA also spans over a decade, having presented the VIMA Hall of Fame Award back in 2013.
Late Night Frequency now stand as the second recipients of the VIMA Trailblazer Award, following Malaysian genrebender Saint Kylo — and they wear that mantle with unapologetic brilliance.

This is a band that thrives in creative collision: disco grooves meet EDM surges, pop hooks spiral into theatrical live instrumentation, all wrapped in surreal, immersive visuals. Their sound isn’t confined by genre… it expands beyond it. Watching LNF is less a performance, more a transport into a living, breathing sonic universe.

LNF is currently nominated across 5 categories at the VIMA Awards – including Best Music Video, Best Pop Song, Best Dance Song, Best Genrebender and Best Band
